Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do I need a Home Safety Inspection?

    • A Home Safety Inspection is essential for ensuring the safety of your household. As firefighters we understand the devastating impact that fire and accidents can have on lives and properties. By conducting home safety inspections, we can identify potential hazards and help you create a safer living environment. • Over the last 10 years, home and community deaths have increased 43% and the death rate per 100,000 people has increased 35%.

  • What is a home safety inspection and how is it different than a home inspection?

    • Home Safety Inspection: A home safety inspection is an assessment of your home that helps reveal the hazards that can lead to fires, accidents, and medical emergencies. Unlike home inspections, home safety inspections are often completed when the home is occupied and in use. This is an important factor because an occupied and in use home allows our inspectors to identify the hazards that are created by our lifestyle and circumstance.

    • Home Inspection: A home inspection is part of the home buying and selling process. A home inspection is an assessment of the property’s condition.

  • How long is the inspection?

    • The length of time for the home safety inspection depends on the size of your home.  Most inspections are completed within 1-2 hours.

  • Do I have to be home during the inspection?

    • We recommend that you or a representative is present during the inspection.  If you cannot be present, we will facetime you or set up a virtual meeting to review your inspection report.

  • What areas of the home are inspected?

    • The inspection is strictly visual and limited to areas that are 'readily accessible' at the time of the inspection.

  • What types of homes do you inspect?

    • We perform home safety inspections on single-family homes of all sizes, town homes, and condos.

  • How much does it cost?

    • A price cannot be put on the health and safety of your family or your cherished property however we respect that cost is always a factor.

    • The exact amount is determined by the size of the home.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    • We accept Venmo, CashApp, and Major Credit Cards.

  • Do you make repairs?

    • We do not make repairs, but we can refer you to a service provider that we trust and can even help you coordinate the repairs.
